Sushi

I have been trying new things lately. I decided when I was in San Diego that I would try something I never thought I would EVER try.....sushi. Here is the piece I decided on......hmmmm better douse it in soy sauce first, since I like soy sauce...lol

Here goes nothing.....down the hatch......can you tell I am totally loving this whole experience???? I wasn't going to share this pic but come on......how can you not share a pic like this??? LOL

My Nephew, The Marine!

Here is my nephew, Doug, who just graduated from the Marine Corps Bootcamp in San Diego. I don't get to see him much so it was great to fly up for the graduation. I am very proud of him. He has had a few bumps in the road but pulled up his bootstraps and got it together and now he is one of the few, the proud, the MARINES! OOOHRAH!

Hannah's Cast

Here is my excited girlie getting casted. I have never seen a child so excited to get a cast on! It was crazy! She was cracking the nurse up the whole time. The nurse asked me, is she like this all the time??!?? Yep!

On a side note, she is so very NOT excited to get the cast off since she heard the sound of the saw when another girl was getting her cast removed while Hannah was getting hers on. Me thinks her daddy will have to take her to the dr. THEN!

Happy New Year

Well, its a new year. 2010. Wow! Hopefully, this new year will be better than the last. I lost 2 very important people in my life. My dad and my grandma. So this year starts out like the last one ended.....very sad. But there is also hope. There is always hope. I have started recognizing the blessings in my life.
So, my friends and family, Happy New Year to you all! I wish you all the best and happiness you could possibly handle. I love you all!
And with this new year of hope, here's hoping I will be a better blogger this new year.....hey, there's always hope, right??

Moving on.......again!

Well, things have been pretty hectic at my house! My dad is dying.......we have him home on hospice care till he passes. That has been very difficult. I can't talk about it much more.....I get very upset.
A move is also in the works. We are moving back to Washington State. Chris got a great job offer we really couldn't pass up. Chris and Matt will be moving up there in 2 weeks. Matt will start school this year there. Hannah and I will move up there when my dad passes.......I don't want to leave him till then :(
Emily has her senior year this year so she will stay behind with my mom. I feel better about the whole situation with her there to "help" my mom and keep her company. She is 18 now so I guess I better get used to the idea of her leaving the nest.
We loved living in Wa. so we are pretty psyched about the move. Chris and I are also tired of being apart so that figures in to the whole "psyched" feeling.
